Is your home in need of a new meter?

Each year the Water Utility replaces water meters that have been in place for twenty or more years. If you find a bright orange paper tag which is normally placed at your front door, the Janesville Water Utility asks that you please promptly call to schedule an appointment. During the visit a water utility customer service representative will visit your home to replace the water meter with a new one free of charge. Each appointment takes about 30 minutes to complete and may be scheduled from 7:15 am – 5:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 7:15 am - 2:15 pm on Fridays.

Water Utility Superintendent Craig Thiesenhusen explains, “It’s to a water customer’s advantage to get a new meter installed. The appointment goes quickly and helps ensure the customer is being accurately billed.”
