Never heard the term "horse play"?  If not, you certainly will at this camp that is co-sponsored by Clean Sweep Farm (8538 N. Serns Road, Milton).  Campers will play and have fun, while at the same time learn about horses!  Camp takes place from 9:00AM-3:00PM with daily activities including: 

  • Horse safety
  • Horse breeds
  •  Proper horse & equipment care
  • Sportsmanship
  • Showmanship
  • Crafts and games!

Proper footwear (shoes or boots with no tread and a small heel) and helmets are required to ride. Helmets are available at the farm. Please bring a lunch each day.  Camp is held at Clean Sweep Farm, 8538 N. Serns Road, Milton.  Sign up early to reserve your spot as there is limited space. Please pre-register online at or at the Janesville Recreation office at least one week before camp begins!  Minimum: 4/Maximum: 8

Mother's Day is just around the corner! Bring your child or grandchild and decorate a plate together with hand prints, drawings, your creativity, etc. We provide the paint and 1 ceramic plate piece to paint together and you provide the artwork on the plate. This program is for kids (ages 3-7) and a special adult (ages 18+) in their life to make a creation for themselves or to give as a gift. Fee includes cleaning, firing and glazing of ceramic plate piece, paint and instruction. Ceramic pieces will need to be picked up at a different time since they will be glazed. Please pre-register online at or at the Janesville Recreation Division office one week prior to the start of class.  Minimum: 6 adult/child pairs/Maximum: 10 adult child pairs.

It's a Bugs Life and we're just living in it! The little creatures of the Earth are fascinating and we should appreciate them. Join us for a fun-filled day of jumping like a cricket, butterfly catching and even making your OWN dirt cup! It's time to get down and dirty and make some great memories this summer. Let all your troubles wash away by running through our beach ball sprinkler and playing with water balloons! This is hands down the best opportunity to cool off during the heat. Nemo and Dory will also be making a special visit to their fish friends! Wear swim suit under clothes and bring a towel. Please pre-register online or at our office by August 2. Imagine a time long, long ago when Dinosaurs roamed the Earth! Have you ever wanted to experience what it's like to go searching for dinosaur eggs or create your own fossil? Everyone's heard the phrase, who let the dogs out?! Well, Scooby-Doo is out and on the move, so you don't want to miss out on this fun-filled program! Come and enjoy some Scooby Snacks, a dog bone hunt, and meet Scooby Doo! You'll also get a chance to scramble around with Scooby-Doo! Please pre-register online or at our office by August 16.  We are back and ready to race for the 2nd annual Janesville Kids Triathlon. The race includes a 50 meter swim, a 2-1/2 mile bike and a mile run for kids between the ages of 7-12. This opportunity is perfect for kids looking to have their first experience in triathlons. While awards will be given to the fastest in each age group, this event is not structured as a highly competitive race. Online registration will begin April 1 at and will end on August 20. Registration will be limited to the first 150 athletes, with on site registration only available if capacity has not been reached. T-shirts are guaranteed for all participants registered by August 11. The course is set in Janesville's Rockport Park, and will utilize Rockport Pool and the Peace Park Trail. On Saturday, August 10, the Janesville VELO Club will host an informational course orientation from 9-10:30AM. Packet pick-up will be held on Friday, August 23 from 5:30-6:30PM at the Peace Park Pavilion in Rockport Park.

 Prior to the event, the Janesville VELO Club will be hosting a race course orientation and training session on Saturday, August 10 from 9-10:30AM. This is a fantastic opportunity to experience all aspects (swimming, running and biking) of the course before race day and to ensure that your bike and equipment are properly fitted and working!
