The Neighborhood Services Department is facilitating a federal grant designed to offer communities the option to purchase foreclosed homes for rehabilitation. Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) funds were made available to the City of Janesville on two occasions. These funds have allowed the City to purchase several homes in Janesville's central city area for rehabilitation and selling to low-to-moderate income individuals or families.
To date, 5 homes have been rehabilitated and sold; two are currently for sale. Three to six more homes will be for sale in late 2012/early 2013.

Neighborhood Services has contracted with Beth Hanthorn of Century 21 Affiliated to serve as the city's real estate agent. Individuals interested in touring these homes or learning the income requirements for purchasing these homes are asked to contact Beth directly at 608-531-2559 or by email.
