Summary of Services
Recreation offers many fun activities for people of all ages, including concerts and events, special needs programs, swimming and adult and youth recreation programs. These programs contribute to a sense of self-fulfillment, and provide opportunities for youth, adults and families to use free time in a constructive manner.
The Division provides services for several local recreation providers in terms of facility reservations, technical support and sharing of resources. The Division works closely with the Janesville School District in coordinating space to adequately meet the growing need for recreation facilities and green space. Janesville Parks & Recreation partners with several area businesses and non-profit organizations to offer diverse programming opportunities.
The Division publishes a monthly Parks and Recreation Divisions newsletter, offering programming highlights, Ice Arena and Senior Center happenings, as well as current Parks Division updates.
