Public Mowing

Overview

The City of Janesville Operations Division shares responsibility with the Parks Division for mowing public property and public right-of-ways during the growing season.

The Operations Division focuses on mowing 10 acres that require "rough" mowing, or weed cutting, three times per season.

The Parks Division "finish" mows approximately 700 acres of medians, landscaped right-of-ways, and City-owned property at a rate of once every 7 to 11 working days.

For all private properties, it is the responsibility of the property owner to mow and maintain vegetation on that property, including within the right-of-way.

For more information on public mowing, please contact the City Services Center at 755-3110.
