Accessible Fixed Route Service
Individuals with disabilities and proper identification can ride regular JTS buses at half fare. All regular route JTS buses and Beloit-Janesville Express buses are accessible to persons with disabilities to include wheelchair users.
What is Paratransit Service?
The City of Janesville offers Paratransit, or “demand-response”, service for qualifying individuals that are unable to use the Janesville Transit System due to their disability. JTS contracts with Rock CountyTransit for paratransit service and fully complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Who is eligible for Paratransit Services?
Paratransit services are provided to individuals who, as a result of their disability, are unable to use the fixed route busy system. Individuals who believe they qualify for Paratransit Services due to their disability must apply by completing an application form to be certified as an eligible rider. How do I apply for Paratransit Services?
Individuals must complete and return an application to the Janesville Transit System to be considered for Paratransit Services. The application is available online or at the Janesville Transit System Office at the Transit Services Center. Eligibility is determined following review by the Paratransit Eligibility Committee.
There is no cost to the applicant for the initial card, however if the card is lost or stolen, a replacement card will be issued at a cost of $3.00.
