W. State Street Closure and Reconstruction

W. State Street from Center Avenue to Oakhill Avenue will be closed to through traffic beginning Monday July 15, 2019.  A detour will be posted.  The street will remain closed for approximately seven weeks.  Contractors working for the City of Janesville will be reconstructing the W. State Street roadway.  Questions regarding the closure or the work can be directed to the Engineering Division at 755-3162.

West State Street Closure Affects JTS Routes

The 2: Kellogg Ave; 6: BJE; and 9: Nightside West routes will detour as follows: 

2: Kellogg Ave will operate the regular route until Oakhill Ave and State St, turning left on W. State St, right onto Monterey Lane; right onto River View Drive through Lustig Park to resume the regular route at Center Avenue. Passengers may board or exit at bus stop #286 at the intersection of Oakhill and State; a Temporary Bus Stop will be placed on Delavan at S. Washington. The Kellogg Ave route will not serve bus stop #245 during the W. State Street closure.

6: BJE inbound and 9: Nightside West and 2:Kellogg (Saturday) will operate the regular route until West State and Oakhill Ave, turning right on Oakhill, left on Joliet and left on Center Ave to resume the regular route. Passengers may board or exit at bus stop #267 at West State and Oakhill; at a temporary bus stop at Oakhill and Joliet; or on Center Ave at bus stop #245. The outbound 6: BJE will follow the same detour route in reverse order.

This street closure will also require the temporary closure of the following JTS bus stops: 268, 269, 270 and 271.
