City to Receive Additional Grant for Monterey Area River Restoration
The City of Janesville was informed this week that it would be receiving a Stewardship Program grant from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) in the amount of $150,000 to be used for the Monterey Area River Restoration project that is underway. This grant amount comes in addition to the $400,000 award already received by the City earlier this year.
According to Director of Public Works Paul Woodard, “We are excited to be partnering with the DNR on this project. This funding will be used to enhance the Monterey Area River Restoration.”
The WDNR will award the City in November. The City has also applied for a Municipal Flood Control Grant and will hear back about that award by the end of the year.
