Regular employment refers to those positions appointed to work either part-time (positions working less than 40 hours per week) or full-time (positions working 40 hours per week). Regular employees receive a variety of fringe benefits. Seasonal employment refers to those positions appointed to work for a limited amount of time. Seasonal positions are not entitled to any fringe benefits except for State-required benefits under the Wisconsin Retirement System.

Other Information about Employment with the City of Janesville

If you do not wish to complete an online application, you may stop by the Human Resources Department between 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday to pick up an application. Applications may be sent to you upon request.

Laborer Positions

Because of the large response, we normally do not advertise for our laborer vacancies. Therefore, if you are interested in this position, please apply at any time with the Human Resources Department and your application will be kept on file for one year. If a laborer vacancy occurs, the department will review applications that are on file and invite those whose qualifications and experiences best meet the City's needs. You may update your application at any time during the year after you have submitted it.
